4 of a Kind

You may remember I told you I was crafty this weekend :)  I can't think of anything else to blog about tonight (hey, it's late--what do you want from me?), so I figured now would be a good time to tell you about the nursing covers I made.

Of course, the idea came from the original bebe au lait nursing covers (aka, "hooter hiders").  I used this tutorial for the first nursing cover I made, and the fabric we picked out was too light-weight, and the boning didn't keep its curve.

Then, being me :) I thought "why not add another layer of fabric for the boning and make the cover reversible, too?"

And voila!  A two-in-one nursing cover.

Even the pockets are reversible.

And (just like the original ones) each one comes with a matching bag.

Pretty nifty, huh? :)

  1. Beautiful! The matching bag is a great touch too! I don't see those on their website but I'm sure they charge even more for them. Looks like your reversibility is done quite cleverly! Well done!

  2. Some of the originals do come with a bag--but I didn't find that option for all of their patterns. I have only seen bags with the original Hooter Hiders, not the bebe au lait covers. The bags are also smaller than mine. However, the new design Hooter Hiders come with a pocket on the front of the cover. I'm not sure how a pocket would work on a reversible cover, but if people are interested, let me know!

  3. Cute! Do you have an Etsy shop?

  4. I have an account on Etsy (for some purses I made) but haven't sold anything on it yet. Let me know if you're interested in one, Jamie :)

  5. I like the bags idea too--good for the diaper bag.
