More Catch Up

Day 7 - My Folks
Most of you probably know by now that my mother died on March 11.  As you can imagine, it's been busy.
I don't have a lot of energy (or time!) to blog for now, but I'm still going to try to do my flickr photos, so check them out if you want some updates on my day-to-day:
And just so you know, my family and I are doing pretty well, all things considered.  There is much sadness, and there will be much adjusting for many years to come... but we are doing well.  For us as Catholics, death is not the end, though it is terribly painful for those who mourn.  Death is more like a doorway, I guess...
Here's one of my favorite quotations from The Golden Key

"You have tasted of death now," said the Old Man. "Is it good?"

"It is good," said Mossy. "It is better than life."

"No," said the Old Man, "it is only more life."

Grant it, O Lord.

Days 12 - 16 (Catch up!)

The good news is that I actually have been taking at least one picture every day.  The bad news is that I don't post every day! Or even every other day :(   So here I am playing catch up.  Click on the photos below to see my short description on my flickr page (http://www.flickr.com/photos/renidemus/)

Day 11 - Squaw Work

It's been a long week.  And my wonderful husband has been taking care of me while I re-adjust to being in Boston (amazing how just a few days away can throw off one's schedule entirely!).
He's even doing the dishes for me :)
Day 11 - Squaw Work

Day 10 - Candles & Crochet

Day 10 - Candles & Crochet
This was the only picture I took yesterday.  It was a great day, though! After a less-sleepy day at work, I came home and had a nice afternoon with my sweet p-Taylor and then packed up some yarn and my hardly-used crochet hook and went to class!   A couple weeks ago I signed up for a crochet class since I had had no luck with the little booklet I was given by my Grammy.  Pictures are great, but they're hard to learn from most of the time.  The class went very well! I learned the chain stitch, single crochet, and half-double crochet :D I'm super excited. Can't wait to learn more stitches next week!
After class T and Burke and I went to dinner at the Golden Temple [if you look close you can see "Golden Temple" on the glass in the picture. Click for a larger view] for veggies and rice (it is Lent).  Tasty meal, good company, and a small crocheted bookmark for Burke.  Fun times!

Day 9 - It Snowed

Back at home with my sweet Taylor! A little tired, but got two naps today and now--off to bed!
Here is my picture for today--the only one I took, actually, so the decision of which to post was quite easy.  Must have been quite a snow storm to get snow up underneath the frames here.
Day 9 - It Snowed...
And so, just another sleepy day recovering from jet-lag and getting "back in the groove."  It's cold and windy here.  And very sunny (doubly so when the sun shines on the snow!).  I think I'm beginning to feel the need for spring--not desperately yet, but it's coming. I hope.

Day 8 - Let It Snow!

No, there's no snow in this picture.  But the snow is a rather direct cause of the opportunity for the picture.  My Sunday evening red-eye flight was canceled due to the heavy (heavy) snow in the New England area, so I stayed an extra day in warm, sunny, deligitful (family-filled) California.  Not bad for a Monday, huh?
Momma and Daddy left the area in the morning to go pick up Uncle Greg, who flew in for a visit.  Then Viv went to some classes while I did some blogging and picture posting, and when she came home (after deciding to ditch class later that evening) we went out to dinner and then to The Dub for a drink! It was fun to see the places where she and all her friends hang out. The Dubliner was a classy place, too.  Reminded me of the Publik House--a beer house here in Boston.  We had a drink together and I had lots of fun trying to capture the moment in this picture.  Viv kept telling me to not "lay all over the bar" but I wasn't drunk--I was just trying to position the camera the right way [that's my hand on the beer glass in the center--I had to be in the picture, too].  In case you can't tell, that's Viv's "Let's pretend to be talking for your crazy picture thing" face :) I loveses my seester!
Day 8 - Let it Snow!
The flight wasn't too bad.  I finished another baby hat :) Pictures forthcoming (at a much later date, after the parents see the hat) and even got an hour or two of sleep.  Let's just say that this morning, I was tired!  Good thing they let me leave work early. Sleeping on keyboards is not, generally speaking, a productive task ;)

Day 7 - My Folks

Dear Momma and Daddy,
It was so good to spend time with you this weekend.  Thanks for letting me tag along at the congress with you, and for feeding me, and bringing me nifty gifts, and buying me awesome things!
Thank you both for always being such good examples of faith and strength.  I miss you already and can't wait to see you in May! You're in our prayers always.  May God keep you close to His heart.
Day 7 - My Folks
Love and God bless,
Annie
